What is the minimum night stay?

The shortest stay you can book is 2 nights. Please note, unfortunately we do not offer single night stays.

What do I need to bring?

Not too much we hope. We provide towels, bed linen and blankets. There is body wash, shampoo and conditioner for you to use. Each kitchen has all the cookware you need to cook a decent meal, along with that needed to BBQ over the fire pit outside. Please do bring flip flops/crocs for the use of the outdoor baths and woodfired hot tubs for Ursa and Perseus. We’ve got all the essentials covered but if in doubt please ask.

What about cooking and food?

There is a gas hob and a fridge in each cabin. The fire-pit has a tripod grill to use for BBQ-ing. Each kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, crockery, cutlery and glassware. We also provide cooking essentials such as olive oil, salt, and pepper. There’s tea, coffee (for the cafetière), sugar and enough milk for a morning brew.

BBQ’s are available on request. If your require charcoal please either bring your own, or we can provide it for £10 per (4kg) bag.

There are also lots of great places to eat out – we’ll send you our recommendations nearer to your stay.

What time is check in/check out

The cabin will be available for you from 4pm. If it is available any earlier we will message to let you know. Check out is by 10am, a later check out can be organised for Sundays up until 12noon.

Full check-in instructions are sent to you 1 week before your stay.

Can I bring my dog?

We do not currently allow dogs on site as we have livestock both on the farm and in neighbouring fields. We are working on providing a dog friendly cabin for 2025, please email if you are interested!

Can children come?

We are currently an adults only site. The cabins are suitable for 2 people and all guests must be over 18, unless the site is booked as a whole family/group booking.

Group & Family Bookings

Please e-mail us if you wish to enquire about booking the entire site (all three cabins) as a group, or larger/extended family. Children and dogs are welcome if the entire site is booked as a whole, for up to a maximum of 12 guests. Please e-mail us for further information.

Do the cabins have electricity?

The lights and fridge are powered by solar energy. This is via large leisure batteries so don’t worry, it doesn’t run out on cloudy days. There are two USB sockets at the end of the kitchen which can be used for charging phones. Please don’t charge anything bigger as this does drain the batteries. There are no 3 point plug sockets in the cabins.

Do you have Wifi?

The cabins do not have Wifi as we encourage our guests to switch off from it all. The site has good mobile phone signal with 4G so you should be able to get online if you need to.

What is the bathroom like?

There is a large walk in shower and sink unit with instant hot water. We provide basic toiletries and towels.

The compost loo really isn’t something to fear. Its very simple and straightforward to use and if you follow our instructions (framed on the wall) you won’t have any problems at all with odours.

How hot do the outdoor baths get?

The baths are located on the outside decks and are made of vintage cast iron. They only reach a maximum of 32 degrees, so are more suited to the Summer months. If you prefer something a little warmer, please book one of the cabins with the wood-fired hot tubs as these reach temperature of plus 40 degrees and can be used all year round.

Can I park next to the cabin?

No, the cabins are a short walk from the parking area – no more than a few minutes. We provide a wheelbarrow to help you with your luggage.

Do you provide logs?

We provide a basket of logs, bucket of kindling, firelighters and matches. This is usually enough for a two night stay. There will be a log store provided near the barn for you to replenish your own logs as needed, unlike a lot of other places we do not charge extra for this. Please note that only wood provided by us can be used in the woodburning stove or fire pit.

Do I need a car to get there?

Car is definitely the simplest option but you can also get a taxi to the farm. This will need to be booked in advance. The nearest train stations are Honiton or Axminster. Bikes are also an option but please do be aware that we are in the Blackdown ‘Hills’!
