Ursa – Luxury Stargazing Cabin

Beautiful cabin in a very peaceful location. Surrounded by trees, squirrels and birds on a lovely farm. Short driving distance from excellent coastal walks and beaches along the Jurassic Coast. Real touches of luxury and very well equipped. By far the best feature is the bath under the stars! Wonderful! I really hope to be back. (Sophie, September 2021)

The stargazing cabin is a blissful way to spend a holiday. Super comfy and clean, lots of piping hot water, especially for the magical outdoor bath, and lovely areas to sit out on the terrace or by the fire. Could have happily stayed for weeks. A really special place. (Georgie, August 2021)

This beautiful off-grid cabin is perfect for a quiet get away! Close to the gorgeous Jurassic Coast and some lovely places to eat! We went for a mini moon, and had the most amazing weekend away! Would highly recommend! (Rosanna, August 2021)

Can’t speak highly enough about this wonderful place. We had the most relaxing, chilled out stay and most certainly enabled us to unwind. The views are superb and surroundings so quiet and peaceful. The outdoor bath was amazing and we will certainly miss our evening baths under the stars. The hut was beautifully finished and furnished with everything we needed. Poppy and Paul were the perfect hosts – giving lots of advice on places to visit, things to do and places to eat (although we liked the hut so much we stayed in every night to make the most of it!). Thank you Poppy and Paul for the perfect break – can’t wait to come back! (Lisa, July 2021)

This unique cabin was such a delight to stay in! We stayed for two nights but could easily have stayed a lot longer! The outdoor bath was so luxurious. We lay in the hot bath looking at the night sky with nothing but the sound of the breeze rustling through the oak trees, it was one of the most magical moments of my life. So peaceful and quiet! We woke the next day to the sight of two deer wandering through the fruit bushes behind us. It was just what we wanted, a chance to take a deep breath, appreciate the nature around us and fully immerse ourselves in a peaceful bubble! Amazing! Just can’t wait to stay again. Ooh and the skylight over the comfy king size bed! I would highly recommend a stay here. An unforgettable experience. (Thalia, July 2021)

We came here for our babymoon as we are expecting our first child in August and wanted a relaxing few days away – this place was all we could have hoped for and more! A beautiful location with quirky and cosy amenities, helpful hosts and beautiful wildlife. We ended up doing most of the activities recommended to us by Poppy and Paul and had the best time exploring local beaches and walks and eating lovely food. We were able to totally switch off and left feeling super relaxed! (Lily, June 2021)

Poppy and Paul we fantastic!!! Could not have asked for better, cabin was beautiful and clean. They helped me prepare an engagement, made the place even more beautiful. Thank you so much guys, you were amazing. A forever memory! (Matthew, May 2021)

Beautiful cabin in the Blackdown Hills with a wood burning stove and off grid setup. Amazingly peaceful getaway with superb responsive hosts and great privacy. Everything you need to recharge your batteries and escape the world for a while. I would love to visit again. (Jim, December 2020)

Paul and Poppy had a book with information about the cabin and some great places to visit nearby. There were some games left for us to use which was thoughtful. The bath outside was fantastic and the charming woodburner kept us cosy inside. Thank you both for an amazing weekend. (Anna, November 2020)

Our stay in Poppy and Paul’s cabin was very comfortable. It was clear they’d thought very hard about the little touches to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The log fire was a real treat and we had plenty of fuel and kindling for making the place cosy in the long autumn evenings. Bathing under the stars in the outdoor bath with the wind rustling the trees was a real treat, and the indoor shower was an easy and spacious alternative when we didn’t want to run a whole bath. There was certainly no shortage of hot water. The kitchen, too, was very well-equipped and we prepared several meals on the gas hob without a problem. There were several maps and guidebooks detailing local walks, with the south coast a short drive away. We would recommend the cabin for anyone who fancies a quiet countryside retreat close to nature. (Oliver, October 2020)

The cabin was definitely a notch up from glamping… it really is a tiny house with all you need. A lovely bathroom with very good shower and well equipped kitchen. The outside bath is inspired, it was great fun having a night time soak under the rustling trees, listening to the owls. The perfect end to a day of long walks by the stunning Southwest Coastal footpath and swimming in the River Otter. (Hannah, September, 2020)

Poppy and Paul are great hosts. Their stargazing cabin is fantastic. It is in a secluded and charming location, perfect for a quiet getaway. Outstanding value for money. The bath was a real special touch. Couldn’t recommend enough. (Ben, August 2020)

Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect spot to escape for a few days. The cabin is absolutely perfect for switching off and getting away and is finished to a really high standard (the shower and bath are superb!). On a clear night it really is a stargazer’s dream, haven’t seen so many stars in a long time! Despite being away from it all, the location is very accessible to the local town and we got some brilliant suggestions from Poppy. Would 100% recommend. (Tom, August 2020)

This place truly is a relaxing retreat for people wanting to escape a busy life. The location is dreamy, nestled in the corner of a fruit farm, under trees. The only noises we heard were the local live stock and birds. The cabin is compact with everything needed for a stress free stay: from kitchen essentials; to logs for the fire and a powerful shower. It is finished to a high standard that feels more home from home, than home to woods. We were able to be left to our own devices to come and go as we pleased- which was perfect for us. The local area has some beautiful scenery too. Highly recommend! (Esme, July 2020)

Ursa is a lovely cabin in a quiet location. The hosts are friendly and quick to respond to questions. The postcode takes you to the door. What make this place stand out for me is the quiet. There is very little noise. The nearest town is about 5 miles away and the nearest road is quiet. At night, it’s dark. Properly dark with no light pollution. When we stayed, it was a bit cloudy, but I’ve never seen stars like it. Absolutely breathtaking. We were also lucky enough to have deer outside of the window in the morning and evening. A great place to just ‘switch off’ for a couple of days. (Annie, July 2020)
