Ursa – Luxury Stargazing Cabin
Thank you for a lovely weekend staying in Ursa. What a brilliant space to stay. The sky was with us last night and can’t believe the stars we saw, the sky was alight with stars! Also, thank you for the raspberry cake, it was lovely to have the cake with a cup of coffee when we arrived. Looking forward to staying for another weekend next year and we will certainly recommend Royal Oak Farm to our family and friends.

Me and my Partner had an amazing time staying at Ursa. It was very well equipped with everything we needed and the host were super helpful. Both the hot tub and the outside bath were wonderful. We had a lot of privacy and it was very peaceful. We would love to return for more nature staycations!

We had a lovely at time at Ursa, the setting is idyllic, lots of wild plants and trees and they had veg and some fruit available for picking. The log burning hot tub was also a real treat. The hosts Mikey and Emily were very welcoming and helpful with anything we needed. I would highly recommend this place for anyone wanting a wholesome peaceful getaway 🙂
J&R, August 2025
A well designed and thoughtfully landscaped space gave us a perfect weekend away. We loved how private each cabin on the site was and loved the outside space we had.

Genuinely excellent and just what we needed.
The accommodation was clean, well maintained and well stocked, even with milk and very good cake.

Inside our luxury stargazing cabin
Ursa’s sumptuous king size bed beneath a vast skylight window makes the most of every opportunity to catch sight of a shooting star. The well-equipped kitchenette has a gas hob, hot running water and a fridge.
The large en-suite shower room is fitted with a large walk-in shower and vanity unit with a sink. A luxury compost loo is accessed from the shower room without the need to step outside.
The wood burning stove will keep you toasty in the cooler months and on chilly summer nights. We provide a large basket of logs, kindling and fire lighters for your stay. We have additional logs and kindling available to purchase if you require more.
The living-eating space has a comfortable seating area and a table and chairs for two, positioned to take in the view from the French windows which open out on to a spacious private deck.
Outside our luxury stargazing cabin
On the deck and grass below you’ll find everything you need for alfresco cooking and dining, along with seating to relax and watch the stars or take in the view in your own little haven.
The deck also boasts a vintage roll top bath with hot running water so that you can enjoy a luxurious soak beneath the stars. A wood-fired hot-tub awaits on the grass area below. Binoculars, stargazing monocular and star maps are provided and the cabin has plenty of cosy, warm blankets to keep you warm after dark.
Deer, pheasants and birds of prey can often be spotted on the farm amongst the native trees, wild flowers and swaying grass.
Off-grid
The lighting and fridge are powered entirely from solar energy, with LPG gas for cooking and hot water, making your experience ‘off-grid’.
The site has good 4G coverage but Wifi is not available in the cabin. We invite guests to make the most of being able to switch off and unwind away from the bustle of daily live. The cabins have a usb charging point for recharging phones.
Location
Royal Oak Farm is the perfect location for exploring Devon further: 20 minutes from the Jurassic Coast (World Heritage Site); 10 minutes from Honiton; 20 minutes from Lyme Regis and 30 minutes from Exeter.
Please note:
our cabins are for adults only;
because we have livestock on the farm and we grow food products, we unfortunately cannot allow dogs on site.
