Orion – Stargazing Cabin in Devon
Amazing weekend! Loved the location and cabin was just perfect. Such a gem! The outside area was so lovely, we cooked dinner on the fire every night and watched the sunset over the fields. Total switch off from city life staying on Mikey’s farm, such a warm welcome from the family and even made us some cake to have with a cup of tea when we arrived after a long drive! The remote location was beautiful but also enabled us to travel to Lyme regis to see the beautiful beach and hike at Becky Falls, there’s so much to see and do in nearby areas. Was everything we wanted for a weekend in nature, and topped off by a hot bath outside on the cabin deck 🙂

Really easy to find, great location for things to do and an absolutely gorgeous cabin, it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay including the huge bed! A really great shower, plenty of instant hot water and all the little extras like the books and binoculars were great, going to sleep looking up at the stars was perfect, we will definitely book again.

We had a fab stay – the cabin & surroundings are so lovely & it feels very private & peaceful. It’s very well kitted out & we loved using the firepit! Mikey greeted us & showed us to the cabin & around the farm which was really nice – we also had fresh cake waiting for us in the cabin! All round a really lovely place for a weekend away.

We had a wonderful escape at Orion, enjoying the peace and quiet of a child free break. We loved cooking on the fire and picking strawberries from the tunnel – a wonderful private spot to unwind

A beautiful and lovely stay in the peaceful countryside. The hosts went the extra mile to make our stay as relaxing as possible. The little touches such as being able to see the stars at night made it even more special. We will definitely be visiting in the near future. Thank you both!

Inside our unique stargazing cabin
Orion’s sumptuous king size bed beneath a vast skylight window makes the most of every opportunity to catch sight of a shooting star. The well-equipped kitchenette has a gas hob, hot running water and a fridge.
The large en-suite shower room is fitted with a large walk-in shower and vanity unit with a sink. A luxury compost loo is accessed from the shower room without the need to step outside.
The wood burning stove will keep you toasty in the cooler months and on chilly summer nights. We provide a large basket of logs, kindling and fire lighters for your stay. We have additional logs and kindling available to purchase if you require more.
The living-eating space has a comfortable seating area and a table and chairs for two, positioned to take in the view from the French windows which open out on to a spacious private deck.
Outside our unique stargazing cabin
On the deck and grass below you’ll find everything you need for alfresco cooking and dining, along with seating to relax and watch the stars or take in the view in your own little haven.
The deck also boasts a vintage roll top bath with hot running water so that you can enjoy a luxurious soak beneath the stars. Binoculars, stargazing monocular and star maps are provided and the cabin has plenty of cosy, warm blankets to keep you warm after dark.
Deer, pheasants and birds of prey can often be spotted on the farm amongst the native trees, wild flowers and swaying grass.
Off-grid
The lighting and fridge are powered entirely from solar energy, with LPG gas for cooking and hot water, making your experience ‘off-grid’.
The site has good 4G coverage but Wifi is not available in the cabin. The cabins have a usb charging point for recharging phones. We invite guests to make the most of being able to switch off and unwind away from the bustle of daily life.
