Orion – Stargazing Cabin in Devon

We loved spending a couple of days in this beautiful eco-cabin and exploring the local area and coastline. Everything was beyond our already high expectations! Fantastic hosts, beautiful accommodation and views / setting. Couldn’t recommend more highly and my husband and I would definitely stay there again. Would also recommend the yummy food hampers that you can also pre-order. A bbq with local produce, cooked under the stars on a fire pit in our own secluded space – really was as idyllic as it sounds. Thank you so much! (Nell, September 2022)

Really enjoyable stay. The stargazing cabin was in a perfect location for trips out, but we also had a great time staying in and making use of the outdoor bath and fire pit. We really appreciated the peace and quiet and the view from the cabin was beautiful. (Sarah, September 2022)

Perfect location for seeing the stars at night. Wildlife and deer spotted in the fields first thing in the morning. Outside bath was unique and supply of hot water was excellent. There’s a great seating area for a bbq/fire pit whilst you watch the sunset with a glass of Prosecco. (Steve, August, 2022)

Orion was the most beautiful cabin with the most amazing views. The fire pit was lovely and the outdoor bath was perfect to relax in the evening under the stars. The cabin was cosy and so clean. We would absolutely love to come back again, and we would definitely recommend! (Daniella, August 2022)

The Orion cabin is out of this world! Beautiful spot, off grid, great facilities, clean, and well equipped. We loved the outside bath and separate bbq area. It has great connectivity to the coast. This is a fabulous place to stay! (Joseph, July, 2022)

Fantastic tranquil lodge in beautiful countryside. Poppy and Paul have thought of everything – from herbs in planters on the deck to a pot of sugar cubes for your coffee. We visited nearby beaches but ended up skipping evening meals out because we couldn’t wait to get home to our little cabin. It’s just so relaxing – particularly loved the outdoor bath! We will definitely be back again and highly recommending this beautiful destination to all our friends. (Natalie, July 2022)

We had the most wonderful few days in Poppy & Paul’s shepherds hut! We were expecting something great from the pictures but it’s even better in real life. Love the conscious effort that’s been put in making this hut eco friendly! 100% recommended! (Noa, June 2022)

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Poppy and Paul’s cabin – it was beautifully furnished. The bed was super comfy, it had an incredible hot power shower and the outdoor bath was a real treat. The setting was really peaceful and Poppy and Paul were lovely hosts – the home made fudge on arrival was a really thoughtful touch. We’ll definitely be back! (Sophie, May 2022)

If you’re looking for a stargazing cabin in Devon, look no further! Absolute hidden gem – such a peaceful place to relax and the hut has everything you need to switch off, and the BBQ area was set up perfectly. It was also a really great base to explore the area – lots of fantastic walks and beautiful scenery nearby. Poppy and Paul were very accommodating too. (Claire, May 2022)

The cabin is beautifully done and has everything you need. Poppy and Paul have really paid attention to detail and made this a truly luxurious retreat. It’s so private and the outdoor bath was amazing. The compost loo was the nicest one I’ve ever used! Can’t recommend this highly enough. (Victoria, April 2022)

Inside our unique stargazing cabin

Orion’s sumptuous king size bed beneath a vast skylight window makes the most of every opportunity to catch sight of a shooting star. The well-equipped kitchenette has a gas hob, hot running water and a fridge.

The large en-suite shower room is fitted with a large walk-in shower and vanity unit with a sink. A luxury compost loo is accessed from the shower room without the need to step outside.

The wood burning stove will keep you toasty in the cooler months and on chilly summer nights. We provide a large basket of logs, kindling and fire lighters for your stay. We have additional logs and kindling available to purchase if you require more.

The living-eating space has a comfortable seating area and a table and chairs for two, positioned to take in the view from the French windows which open out on to a spacious private deck.

Outside our unique stargazing cabin

On the deck and grass below you’ll find everything you need for alfresco cooking and dining, along with seating to relax and watch the stars or take in the view in your own little haven.

The deck also boasts a vintage roll top bath with hot running water so that you can enjoy a luxurious soak beneath the stars. Binoculars, stargazing monocular and star maps are provided and the cabin has plenty of cosy, warm blankets to keep you warm after dark.

Deer, pheasants and birds of prey can often be spotted on the farm amongst the native trees, wild flowers and swaying grass.

Off-grid

The lighting and fridge are powered entirely from solar energy, with LPG gas for cooking and hot water, making your experience ‘off-grid’.

The site has good 4G coverage but Wifi is not available in the cabin. The cabins have a usb charging point for recharging phones. We invite guests to make the most of being able to switch off and unwind away from the bustle of daily life.
